Jyotish, also known as Vedic astrology, is a deep and ancient astrological system that dates back thousands of years in India. Rooted in the Vedas, the sacred texts of ancient Indian wisdom, Vedic Astrology goes beyond predicting future events and dives deep into the cosmic interplay of energy and consciousness.
At the heart of Eastern Astrology (Jyotish) is the belief that the position of the celestial bodies at the time of your birth can provide valuable insights into your life journey. Astrology, in my opinion, is not an imprint of a path set in stone! Rather, it is a guide, a map that shows us what to expect at different stages of life. If we listen to our inner voice and observant of the signs along the way, these can help us make better informed choices and navigate the maze of our daily lives more effectively.
VedicBeacon is a simplified daily guide to understanding your unique cosmic blueprint and navigating life’s daily challenges with greater wisdom.
While Vedic and Western astrology share a common basis for understanding the influence of the celestial bodies, they differ in their approach and techniques. Here are some key differences:
Vedic Astrology employs the Sidereal Zodiac, which considers the actual positions of stars in the sky, while Western Astrology typically uses the Tropical Zodiac, which is based on the position of the Sun at the vernal equinox.
Unique to Vedic Astrology, the Nakshatras are celestial constellations (houses or signs) that add depth and accuracy to horoscope interpretation. The sky is broken down into 27 signs instead of the commonly used 12 signs of the zodiac, providing a more subtle understanding of an individual’s personality and life path.
VedicBeacon aims to give you an easy-to-understand picture of the quality of each day and month through a continuously updated calendar.
At the heart of the calendar is Panchanga Suddhi (the five body parts of Panchanga) based on the days of the week (Vaar), the Tithis (Vedic lunar days) and the Nakshatras. The last two elements of Panchanga Suddhi, Karanas (half of the Vedic lunar days) and Yogas (special calculations based on Sun-Moon distance) are also found on the Vedic Beacon portal (along with other more detailed Vedic calculations), but are not commonly used except for very important events.
However, the calendar also includes a personalised element called Chandra and Tara Bala in Vedic astrology. These are calculations based on an individual’s exact natal horoscope and further nuance the quality of a particular day.
Please note that this is not a ‘birth horoscope’ that breaks down the different eras of your life, so you will not find information on what period you are living in: Venus, Ketu, Rahu, etc.
VedicBeacon is an exceptionally user-friendly platform to explore the insightful teachings of Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) and applying them in a practical manner on a daily basis. A simple platform that reveals the quality of your days:
