Medicine Buddha represent the healing all sickness: physical, mental and emotional illnesses alike. His colour of skin is Lapis Lazuli Blue. His right hand is resting on his knee, holding the stem of the Aruna fruit (Myrobalan), and his left hand is holding a lapis-coloured jar of medicine nectar. To meditate on the Medicine Buddha can help decrease physical and mental illness and suffering. In Tibetian Buddhism, Bhaisadzsjaguru is also known for overcoming the inner sickness of hatred, ignorance or attachment.
