How does Guduchi affect the joints?
Guduchi has anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties and is used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to treat joint inflammation, gout and arthritis. By inhibiting inflammatory enzymes and regulating the immune response, Guduchi helps to minimise discomfort and improve joint mobility, making it particularly beneficial for chronic joint problems. It promotes the dissolution and elimination of pitta toxins and uric acid deposited in the joints. Strengthens and regenerates joint tissues, alleviates joint pain and reduces swelling.
How does Guduchi affect the immune system?
Guduchi boosts the activity of immune cells, including macrophages and lymphocytes, which are key to identifying and killing pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. By stimulating the production of antibodies, Guduchi strengthens the body’s defences against infections, allowing for a more robust immune response. It also promotes the release of protective proteins, such as interferons, which help to inhibit viral replication, further boosting the effectiveness of the immune system during periods of increased viral activity, such as flu season. Guduchi also has strong anti-inflammatory properties, which help regulate the immune response, preventing severe inflammation leading to tissue damage and chronic disease.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose: overconsumption of Guduchi may cause immune system overactivity in autoimmune disease due to its effect on immune regulation. For optimal personalised treatment, it is highly recommended to consult an Ayurveda specialist or a doctor.
How does Guduchi affect liver function?
According to Ayurvedic observations, Guduchi protects and detoxifies the liver, promoting the regeneration of liver tissue. It helps to remove accumulated toxins and metabolic waste products, reduces liver fatigue and supports effective detoxification. The antioxidant compounds in Guduchi, such as flavonoids and alkaloids, neutralise free radicals, protect the liver from oxidative stress and prevent cell damage. It also improves digestive efficiency, which helps prevent the accumulation of toxins. Strengthens the body’s defences against damage caused by toxins, alcohol or chemicals.
How does Guduchi affect skin health?
Guduchi supports skin health by purifying the blood and removing toxins, according to Ayurvedic observations. It works from the inside out, detoxifying the body. The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial action soothes irritated skin, reduces redness and protects against infections. Effective in the treatment of chronic skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. The antioxidant content helps combat oxidative stress, promoting a radiating, healthy complexion. It helps regenerate skin cells, increasing skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. By balancing the Pitta dosha, which regulates heat and inflammation, Guduchi prevents the upheavals of skin conditions caused by “heat” and has a calming effect. The ability to harmonize overall health is directly reflected in the skin, making Guduchi a holistic remedy for achieving glowing and radiant skin.
Can Guduchi be used in combination with blood thinner?
Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) may interact with blood thinners such as warfarin and aspirin, potentially increasing the risk of bleeding. This is because Guduchi can enhance the effect of anticoagulant drugs, which can lead to excessive bleeding or bruising. Based on Ayurvedic observations, the herb has immunomodulatory properties and affects the process of blood clotting, so it should only be used under the supervision of a doctor in this case.
